Milestones are a way to manage issues per release. It allows you to define which issues belong to a specific milestone.

It exists 2 types of milestones: active and completed milestones. Active milestones are milestones which are still active and didn't reach any completed date while completed milestones are milestones which reached a specific completed date. Milestones can be marked as overdue if the milestone is still active and the target date has passed the actual day.

    Milestone List

This list shows you the created milestones. You may add a milestone from here. To create a new milestone, click the "Add Milestone" link under the list.

    • Title - title for the milestone. HTML is not recommended.
    • Description - description for the milestone.
    • Target Date - the date which you expect the milestone will be finished.
    • Completed Date - the date the milestone is really finished.

    Note:
This feature is available since Project Tools 2.2.0

Magic Selects exists since the first release of Project Tools (status, issue type, versions, milestones, etc.). With the magic selects manager, you can add more magic selects per project. It could be related to whatever you want.

You can add magic selects and their options per project.

    Magic Select List

This list shows you the created magic selects and related options per magic selects. You may add a new magic select and their options from here. To create a new option, click the "Add Magic Select" link under a specific magic select.

    Add/Edit Magic Select Options

    • Title - title for the option. HTML is not recommended.
    • Display Order - sort order for the magic select option.
    • Value - value for the option. This is the value which will be saved when this option will be selected in issues.

    Note:
This feature is available since Project Tools 2.2.0.

You may specify as much priorities as you wish for a project.

It applies in all issues in the project. It allows you to define issues which needs to be done quicker than other issues.

If you click the priority link, you will be shown a list of priorities for the project:

When adding or editing a priority you will see the following options:

    • Title the title of the category. Use of HTML in the title is not recommended.
    • Display Order sorting order. There is no way to completely hide a category without removing it.
    • Default value the default value for all priorities in the list. This is needed if you selected to use non-selectable priorities in the project properties.
    • Severity Color - Dark Styles the color used as background in lines of issue lists in the defined dark styles if you want to use this feature. This could move in a stylevar in the future.
    • Severity Color - Light Color the color used as background in lines of issue lists in the defined light styles if you want to use this feature. This could move in a stylevar in the future.

The vBulletin Project Tools system is an add-on to vBulletin that integrates project management into an existing vBulletin forum installation. The interface and administration are fully integrated with the forum.
    Warning:
vBulletin Project Tools 2.1.3 require vBulletin 4.0.8 or newer. You will not be able to install them unless you are running this version!

    Note:
This feature is not available anymore since Project Tools 2.2.

You may choose to store your Project Tools' attachments in the database or file system, independent of what you have chosen to do with vBulletin's attachments.

By default, they are stored in the database.

The process for moving the Project Tools' attachments from the database to the file system (or vice versa) is identical to vBulletin's. See this manual entry for more details.

    Warning:
If you are intending on putting the Project Tools' attachments in the file system, they must go into a different directory than vBulletin's attachments!

The project and issue type settings for an issue are not editable via the front-end of the Project Tools at this time, due to complex permission interactions.

This system allows you to arbitrarily change those values without regard for permission concerns.

This is a several step process.

    1

Here you need to enter the ID for the issue you wish to edit. To find the ID, view the issue in question and look at the URL. You should see something like these examples:
    project.php?issueid=12345
    issue.php?issueid=12345
The 12345 is the issue's ID.

    2

Once you have entered the issue ID, you can confirm that you have selected the correct issue on this page. If that is correct, you should select the new project and/or issue type.

    3

You may also have to select a new category, version, or status as the existing settings may not apply to the new project or type. This is the last step, so once you continue the changes will be saved.

The update counters section lets you ensure that counters such as number of replies in an issue or the number of issues in a project are correct.

This is a maintenance section. You do not need to run either of the options here unless you suspect that the counters are incorrect. They should remain correct during day-to-day use.

There are some counters that can be rebuilt:

    • Rebuild Issue Counters - this will rebuild the reply, attachment, and petition counters in an issue. In addition, last post times and users will be checked.
    • Rebuild Project Counters - this will rebuild the total issue counters and last activity times for each issue type in a project. If you think you need to run this, it's generally recommended that you run Rebuild Issue Counters first to ensure that the issue data is correct.

    Note:
The counter below is added since version 2.0.0.

    • Rebuild Milestone Counters - this will rebuild milestone counters for every project.

    Note:
The counter below is added since version 2.1.2.

    • Rebuild Profile Issue Counters - this will rebuild profile issue counters for every user. It will check the number of issues a user created and update it.
