I never bothered buying the Blog component - I never thought anyone would want to use it in my community. But when we pre-purchased the upgrade to vB 4 Pub Suite, I sent a support ticket asking if we could have access to vB Blog for the remainder of our time on vB3.8. I never paid it, neither the blog (beta tester since 1.0 for these 2 products - I ever got a 3.6.8 Staff Preview for a special version of PT or Blog)
...and to my surprise, people actually began to use it.
